OUR IMPACT
Making a Difference
The impact of our donors’ philanthropy is seen throughout EWC’s work: supporting new cohorts of students; convening impactful dialogues across nations and cultures; and forming new partnerships that address critical issues of our time.

Eddie and Elaine Flores continue their commitment to East-West Center students
Eddie and Elaine Flores recently contributed an additional $10,000 to their endowed scholarship fund in support of East-West Center participants. Established in 2011, the Eddie and Elaine Flores Endowed Scholarship Fund provides support for degree-seeking students and participants in the Center’s Asia Pacific Leadership Program. To date, their generosity has helped 23 EWC students and participants advance their educational and professional goals.
“I support the East-West Center because it is a world-class organization with top-notched programs that have cultivated many leaders around the world. We are fortunate to have an organization like this based in Hawai‘i,” says Eddie Flores, Jr., Chairman of L&L Hawaiian Barbecue.
Eddie previously served on the EWC Board of Governors from 2003-2011 and the East-West Center Foundation Board of Directors from 2003-2005 and again from 2013-2019. His daughter, Elisia Flores, CEO of L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, currently serves on EWC Board of Governors, continuing the family’s legacy of service and support.
